In Your House 6

In Your House 6 (retroactively known as In Your House: Rage In The Cage) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the World Wrestling Federation, which took place on February 18, 1996, at the Louisville Gardens in Louisville, Kentucky. The main event of the show was a Steel Cage match where reigning WWF World Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart defended the championship against Diesel in a rematch from the 1995 Survivor Series where Bret Hart won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The Pay-Per-View featured five additional matches including a match between Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart to determine who would be the next challenger for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The show featured four additional matches as well as three matches held after the main portion of the show was over, only seen by the people in attendance at the Louisvile Gardens. With the launch of the WWE Network in 2014 this show became available on demand, but does not include the three dark matches held after the main show.
==Background==

The event featured a total of nine professional wrestling matches, three of those untelevised "dark matches" held after the live Pay-Per-View (PPV). Some of the matches featured wrestlers who were involved in pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines and others are teamed up with no backstory. Wrestlers themselves portrayed either heels (wrestling term for those who portray the "bad guys") or faces (those who portray the "good guys") as they competed in matches with pre-determined outcomes.
At the 1995 Survivor Series Bret Hart defeated Diesel to win the WWF Championship in the main event of the show. Following the event the face Diesel began showing more and more "heel" tendencies both in his wresting style and comments towards other wrestlers, with the storyline being that it was unclear which side his allegiance lay. At the 1996 Royal Rumble Diesel came to the ring during a WWF Championship match between Bret Hart and The Undertaker, targeting Bret Hart and causing the Undertaker to lose his opportunity for the WWF Championship. Following the show it was announced that Bret Hart would defend the championship against Diesel on In Your House 6 inside a Steel cage designed to ensure no outside interference and a conclusive winner to the match.
